Happy Birthday Darling

I can hardly believe this is the baby of my youth (20) and as Angie puts it "full on into my 30's". Angie, you're such a lovely young woman with a beautiful family of your own in jolly olde England and you are very much missed. I love you and wish you a very happy birthday dearest!

an English Christmas

Dear Jack (5) and Cerys (pronounced care-is, aged 2), my English grandchildren are sorely missed by Grandma! They've had winter snow, walks through a lighted Forest, and several visits (for Cerys) with Father Christmas! Jack enjoyed a Christmas disco at the close of school, which he thoroughly enjoyed as well as their cookie party with friends. I wish there was a magic sleigh that would bring them to me for a little beach, sunshine and Grandma's kisses :0)

Our 1st Christmas Choir

What is a Christmas Eve service without angels? Singing angels at that! They did a beautiful job despite the fact that I was their impromptu director (the accompanist didn't have the time quite right) and the fact that we had to sing a cappella! But a little candle sword fighting between 3 yr. old's will always steal the show!

Christmas Hats

You never know what you'll find in a Christmas stocking, both Finn and Lily were sporting new Christmas hats at our last gatherings. I actually got all the grand kids (except Lily) new hats this year, Ray, Jack and Jacob camouflage beanies and a fleese pom-pom for Cerys. Finn got a nifty striped hat with tassels that I'm not sure he's crazy about. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with chuch and then a Mexican feast for 11, a bit of gift giving for the ones that had to leave and then to bed for the rest of us. Lily gave Chelsea all that she wanted for Christmas, a silent night, she only woke up once to eat and then went right back to sleep! It was a bright 6 a.m. for me to start the dough for home made cinnamon rolls and a breakfast casserole. We woke Jon and Abbey at 9 and then had breakfast and a crazy game of Phase 10. We finished the day with going to the movies to see Marley and Me, yes we all were reminded of Snookie. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Abbey Leaves the Teen Years

Happy 20th Abbey, it hardly seems possible that 20 years have gone by since we welcomed you into the world, but so it is. Words that come to mind when thinking of you are, artistic, funny, forgetful, animal lover, unique, opinionated, caring and that all together you are a lovely young woman. :0) We love you and may this be a fabulous year!

Tis the Season

Finally getting a few decorations out, and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, even with the sun blaring through the window and highs in the 60's. This will be a very different Christmas for us as for the first time there are no children living in our home. It reminds me of the verse "to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven". King Solomon

Finney MaGee's 1ST B-DAY

Finn's big day was a lot of fun. Lindsey designed a bear themed party with bear cookies and teddy grahams topping the cup cakes, lots of little folks and family came to enjoy the day. Well done!

mama's b-day picnic

well it wasn't exactly a picnic this year, with colder weather Linds, Peou and Finn went home after the Thanksgiving /black Friday shopping. So we hemmed and haaed about whether or not to go out. Jordan was keen on going, Chelsea wanted to take Lily for a walk in her new buggy so we decided upon the Lovers Point path and Still Water Cove as a compromise. Chels got a whiff of the corn dogs and started salivating after not being able to eat hot dog type food for 9 months so we got her one, both Jordan and I claimed a bite, yummy. Then I decided to get one and thought we should ask Ray and Jacob or Ted and Sara for that matter. At first the answer was negative but Ray must of thought it over so he and Jacob now both wanted one. What's worse than ants at a picnic? Ferocious seagulls, after being warned by the corn dog guy to guard your dog we ate in a huddle but a tricky seagull swooped down and snatched Jacob's out of hand, he was aghast that the bird "stole it", Sara at this point was just getting her dog and gave it to Jacob and the corn dog guy had a heart so he put another on for Sara, so that was the extent of our picnic, but the walk was lovely and the pics reveal it :0)

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving brings many images and thoughts to mind, the holiday is woven into the very fabric of our upbringing here in America, we have much to thank our Creator for. I'm especially thankful that Lily was in my arms this morning on my birthday resting peaceably at home after her trying ordeal at the hospital. I'm thankful for how the Lord designed our bodies to heal and just to watch the miracle of a nursing infant so close and in-tune with her mother Chelsea. I'm grateful for my family, all 18 in my immediate group, 5 kids, 5in-law kids, 7 grandchildren and of course for Ted. I'm thankful for Lighthouse Fellowship, the church God has intrusted to our hearts and the sweet fellowship of believers in Christ. Yes, I have much to be thankful for, thank you Jesus.

the hospital again?

please if you would, pray for our little Lily, she has been re-admitted to the hospital for jaundice. (Sat. evening) Chelsea is staying at the hospital with her but can only hold her and cuddle her while nursing, (every 3 hours) otherwise she is under the UV lights with a beanie and tape over her eyes hooked up to an I.V. Our hope and trust is in the Lord, that He will give wisdom and healing, that He will help Chelsea and Jordan through this trial. Ps. 121, I lift my eyes unto the hills, from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

beautifully and wonderfully made

The miracle of life, only God. Well done Chelsea and Jordan, tell her all about this day that He gave to you, blessing indeed!

worth the wait

there is a verse in the Bible that says "the end of a thing is better than its beginning", and that would certainly apply to labor and delivery! Chelsea, Jordan and I entered the hospital on Tues. at 7:00 a.m. and welcomed and waited upon Lily until 7 something Wed. night, but she was worth the wait and all the hard work of labor was rewarded with the delivery of a beautiful baby girl who has her mother's eyes and cheeks and her daddy's nose, a blending of two becoming one. I am so proud of Chelsea how she continued to persevere through difficult back labor for hours on end, well done darling! Pictures definitely forthcoming :0)

Playing the waiting game

no news yet on baby Lily, apparently she already knows she's the princess! I've nearly finished my Christmas shopping, now I need to wait upon Christmas to give the gifts. I have Finn's 1st b-day gifts all tied up, but I need to wait until his party on Dec. 6th to deliver the goods. I've had Abbey's birthday gift for months, just waiting for the 13th of Dec. to roll around. Angie's going to be 31 on Dec. 27th, no need to wait for her b-day to deliver a gift, I gave it to her in Oct. when I went to England for Jack's b-day! Perhaps all this waiting is producing patience, I sure hope so :0)

Although Chelsea is not due until the 25th, the Dr. gave the any day speech so we are anxiously awaiting the"lovely Lily". Maybe the homemade cinnamon rolls will get the action going :0)

Strength

I don't have a lot of photos of Ted, but this one represents one of his greatest character traits, STRENGTH. We can always count on him, lean on him, run to him, call him for advice, cry on his shoulder, he never changes, he's never too busy. He serves his family and his congregation with godly strength. What would we do without this amazing man! Happy Anniversary T, 21 years and counting :0)

Sweetest 6

Tagged by Linds~ 6 tidbits about me~
1. I go "over the top" about things I'm passionate for.
2. I believe everyone should be a servant.
3. I'm more fond of people than animals, (sorry Ab).
4. I once was given the title of cookie queen and I believe I still hold it!
5. My favorite meal is dry puffins with raisens and Starbucks, yummo. (every morning)
6. I love it when the kids, their significant others and grandkids are at my house and we are entrenched in a crazy game of phase 10.

God Bless America

Whatever your political views, one had to agree this was a historic and exciting presidential election! I admit I was glued to the t.v. for hours watching and waiting for all the results and speeches and they were worth the wait. Both candidates shared meaningful and heart felt words regarding their love of country and respect for their opponent. At the end of it all my heart was at peace because my trust was and is in God my Savior to work all things together for good, His good. Last time we elected a President I lived in London, so far away from my people, my land. This election brought back those memories, I rejoice in the freedoms we have. May God bless the United States of America
